This developed paddler and angler
access site (8921 Big Run Road) on the Kokosing
River offers ample parking facilities and an information kiosk.
Located approximately one-half mile south of the intersection of
Big Run Road and State Route 229 in Gambier, the site includes benches
for rest and relaxation. A 12x24 picnic shelter was constructed
by Rotary Club of Mount Vernon in the summer of 2007, with Small's
Sand and Gravel donating concrete for the shelter floor and sidewalk.
No reservations are necessary to use the shelter.

The historic bridge located at the
site is a one-span, 190 foot-long, rivet-connected Warren thru truss
bridge. The bridge, built in 1915, was manufactured locally by the
Mount Vernon Bridge Company. The bridge is being rehabilitated and
reinstalled by the Knox County Engineer this summer, so muddy conditions
and construction equipment may be encountered.
