Hope Fishing Access was named for Hope Tumidanski, who, with her husband, Ed, sold this important riparian area at below market price to the park district in 2006. The acquisition of the site would not have been possible without the financial assistance of the Community Foundation of Mount Vernon and Knox County.

The site is located at Pipesville Road behind the baseball fields and Knox County wellfield, and a mowed path leads to the Kokosing River. Along the path, visitors will notice 2,000 young hardwood saplings, planted to restore the riparian habitat along the river.

No development is planned for the site. This site is about a mile upstream (one-quarter mile by road) of the developed Pipesville Road Canoe Access (12059 Pipesville Road), making it a good spot for fishing and floats.
